Dr. Amir P. Alikhani-Koopaei

Dr. Amir P. Alikhani-Koopaei's earned a degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Pennsylvania State University and subsequently earned his Podiatric Medical degree at Temple University. He completed his podiatric surgical training at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine residency program and is a current UT Health San Antonio Amputation Prevention and Research Fellow. He is professionally interested in the management of the diabetic foot involving orthoplastic reconstruction, foot sparing amputations, external fixation and management of Charcot foot and ankle deformity.

Dr. Phan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Temple University and subsequently earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Degree from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.

He completed his residency training at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville North Carolina and was a member of the inaugural class. He is currently a UT Health San Antonio Amputation Prevention and Research Fellow. His professional interest includes revisional foot and ankle surgery, utilization of external fixation, diabetic orthoplastic reconstruction and Charcot foot and ankle management.
